Star Wars: The Last Jedi to Honor Carrie Fisher

Everyone was extremely sad when Carrie Fisher, the very-loved and popular Princess Leia Organa, suddenly passed away back in December. Immediately after, the team behind Star Wars: The Last Jedi reassured everyone that Leia is going to appear in the movie, as the actress had managed to film her scenes. Still, now, everyone is wondering how will the movie deal with her disappearance and what fate will Leia have, especially after Han Solo was murdered by his own son in the previous movie. It seems like actor John Boyega, who is starring in the franchise as former-stormtrooper Finn, says that the memory of Fisher will be honored in a very beautiful manner.

Honoring Leia Organa

According to a recent interview that John Boyega gave, both Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will have large roles in the upcoming movie, so fans should not worry at all. In the same interview, he also talked about some other key elements and details which will surely make fans happy. Boyega said that fans should consider The Force Awakens a solid foundation for what’s to come in the next movies. They will be building a “big house” now, on the base of the story from the first movie.

Rian Johnson is directing The Last Jedi and according to Boyega, this sequel is going to have a much darker tone and a more vital purpose. There will also be more action sequences along with brilliantly-choreographed lightsaber duels. As for Finn’s role, the actor explained that he will too be more active and will be part of the big plots developing in this story.

He also said that he thinks the fans will really love the way Leia will be sent off from the franchise. As one of the original lead characters, she was supposed to have this big purpose and the team behind the movie did a great job at honoring her memory, now that she passed away. Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in cinemas everywhere on December 15, 2017.
