Jimmy Kimmel Responds to Critics after Health Care Speech
Celebrity host Jimmy Kimmel returned to his late-night show after taking some time off to be with his newborn son and with his wife. After making his return, Kimmel also spoke about the speech he gave a week ago and which went viral on the internet, gathering about 10.000.000 views. Last Monday, Jimmy told his audience that his newborn son with wife Molly McNearney suffers from a congenital heart issue which is called Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia. The little one had surgery which was fortunately successful and he is now feeling better.
A viral speech on health care
Moreover, Jimmy Kimmel talked about maintaining the health insurance for people with pre-existing conditions. He said that when it comes to the health of a loved one, all the money in the world are useless. Your political view point also does not matter when it comes to life and death. So, last night, when he returned to his show, Kimmel wanted to thank everybody for their donations and for the kind messages and prayers.
However, the host also mentioned the not very nice things some journalists and people have said about his speech. For example, someone called him an “elitist creep” or accused him of saying “obscene lies” abut health care and kids. He had a sarcastic response to those people and apologized for thinking that every child in the United States should benefit from health care.
Jimmy Kimmel ended his plea by responding to Newt Gingrich’s statement that night late comedians are not funny at all because all they talk about is Donald Trump. The host said that Gingrich should not talk about such things and made fun of the fact that he is named after a lizard. He also said that Newt is wearing Spanx which prevents his blood from going into his brain.
